Massage

Massage is a manual therapy that promotes muscle relaxation through the targeted application of pressure, movement and touch, improves blood circulation and can therefore relieve pain and increase general well-being.

 

Massage is currently only performed in the practice in conjunction with physiotherapy.

Lymphatic drainage

Lymphatic drainage is a specialized massage technique that aims to stimulate and improve lymphatic flow to reduce swelling, support the immune system and promote the elimination of toxins from the body.

 

Here are some points where lymphatic drainage would be indicated:

  • Lymphoedema:
    For the treatment of swelling caused by impaired lymphatic drainage, as in primary or secondary lymphoedema.
  • Post-operative swelling:
    After surgical procedures, especially if lymph nodes have been removed, to reduce post-operative swelling.
  • Traumatic swelling:
    After injuries or accidents to reduce swelling and hematomas.
  • Chronic venous insufficiency:
    To help with venous problems that can lead to swelling.
  • Rheumatoid arthritis:
    For inflammatory conditions to reduce swelling and inflammation.
